Generative AI can accelerate audit and assurance work, but only when professionals can understand, document, and verify the work it produces. In this interactive session, I will demonstrate practical, audit- and accounting-relevant ways to use AI for data analysis while showing how to preserve transparency, reproducibility, and an audit trail. Participants will see how to prompt AI for more than just a text response, and will use AI tools and code to perform data analysis. Attendees are encouraged to follow along using their own generative AI tool and Microsoft excel during the presentation rather than simply watching the demonstrations, though observers will also benefit.
